TEACHING

Teaching is my first calling and highest priority. As a professor, I desire to honor this role through a commitment to Boyer's Scholarship of Teaching.  This framework also serves as the benchmark for my self-evaluation and reflection.

SCHOLARLY ACTIVITY

My research agenda is beginning to take shape.  In the next year, I am committing myself to an exploration of pre-service teacher perceptions surrounding the social sciences, as well as general research on the Senior Year Experience (SYE).

SERVICE

Boyer reminds us that "service activities must be tied directly to one's special field of knowledge and relate to, and flow directly out of, this professional activity." My work in the community and in other professional projects seeks to embody this maxim.

UNIVERSITY CONTRIBUTIONS

While I am yet to be formally appointed to a university committee, I have taken seriously the opportunities already made available to contribute. I serve on several active committees and recently redesigned the senior capstone for my department.
